I think the ride would loosen the bolts that hold my spine together.

How awesome is it? It looks awesome.

could actually be a maniac if you took one of the 3.5 Ecoboost’s that are already set up sideways...

We’re heeeeeere!

AWAY WITH YOU!

I'd rather take one of those and put it behind the back seat of a Flex. AWD twin engine Flex ftw

oh I would look like a pile of goo when I got out...but I’d be okay with that
![]() 11/05/2015 at 10:33 |

Why would you want a RWD STi?
![]() 11/05/2015 at 10:34 |
|
Done.
![]() 11/05/2015 at 10:37 |

The 2.3L Ecoboost in there is pretty much the Mazdaspeed 3 engine, so turn it sideways and use the MS3’s 6 speed and you’re good to go.
![]() 11/05/2015 at 10:38 |

probably a 2JZ in there, or an LS1.

Hahaha are the capital O’s for the ewg
![]() 11/05/2015 at 10:43 |

Because #antirally
![]() 11/05/2015 at 10:46 |

There are a couple of rwd imprezas up here that drift, and apparently go through axles like gasoline.
![]() 11/05/2015 at 10:52 |

It’s bagged. The ride is better than in my Z
![]() 11/05/2015 at 10:56 |

![]() 11/05/2015 at 11:02 |
|
Nah, it’s more fun to have 365 hp and 350 torque
![]() 11/05/2015 at 11:50 |
|
Normally I don’t like lowered Subarus. But a) I see you said it’s bagged, so this is not actual ride height and b) RWD, so, yeah. Looks sweet.
Follow up question: how is RWD done?

BOOOOOOOOSSSSSTTTTT!!!!!
![]() 11/05/2015 at 14:04 |

Yeah, but then you have to deal with the sound of that V6. No one deserves that punishment.
![]() 11/05/2015 at 14:09 |
|
no one should deal with the sound of that 2.3L either. It may be that the first time I heard it was before it was released and I just pulled into the parking lot in the Montego. Kind of unfair to the little 2.3L, but I thought it sounded like crap.
![]() 11/05/2015 at 14:21 |
|
Why are you so mean?
![]() 11/05/2015 at 14:36 |
|
Like I said it was probably an unfair comparison, I had just driven the Montego for 40 minutes. It’s a 1968 5.0 V8 with true dual Flowmaster Super 44’s on it. There’s not much at my work that competes in sound.
![]() 11/05/2015 at 14:41 |

Just busting your chops. I absolutely love the sound of an uncorked V8 struggling to idle. Then inline 6s, and finally a 4 cyl. As long as it doesn’t sound like a Honda Civic, I like it.
![]() 11/05/2015 at 14:45 |
|
Have I shared the Montego exhaust video with you?
I have a stock cam so it’s an easy idle.

throw it up!

removing front axleshafts
![]() 11/06/2015 at 09:26 |

Before and after vid, so the first 45 seconds or so is the old single/stock exhaust:

That’s it?! Seems like it would have caused weird behavior with the center diff. But I don’t really understand all the different ways that AWD cars operate, and there are so many differences... I know my xi BMW will not move unless all the driveline components are attached and providing resistance. But the Subaru system is obviously different.

i lied. you have to mod the center diff. thought u could by doing that but i guess not
